We focus on practical\, transferable skills like networking\, resilience and adaptability that can support you in any career.   \nIn this session\, we’ll be joined by Ashleigh-Rae\, a writer and facilitator who has contributed to publications like CBC\, Toronto Star\, Broadview Magazine and Yahoo. Participants will learn about the journey to becoming a full-time or freelance writer.

DESCRIPTION:SOY Lead is a peer leadership program for 2SLGBTQ+ youth (29 and under) where participants develop skills and gain hands-on experience in peer support\, leadership and community building. \nDevelop skills in: \n\ncommunity care and social justice\ntrauma-informed support\none-on-one peer support\nhealth promotion\narts-based programming\ngroup facilitation\n\nParticipants also take part in a supervised practicum\, giving them the chance to practice these skills in real community settings. \nEveryone selected receives a weekly honorarium\, dinner and TTC fare for each session. Sessions are co-led by alumni of the SOY Lead program. \nTo be considered for the program\, please submit an application by Monday\, January 19.

The session will focus on helping participants understand what each test looks for\, when it may be recommended and how results can inform decision-making in family building. Topics will include genetic carrier screening\, karyotype testing and preimplantation genetic testing options\, such as PGT-A\, PGT-M and PGT-SR. The goal is to demystify the terminology and provide a practical understanding of how genetic testing fits into fertility care pathways.
