Rooted in trauma-informed mental health principles and community care\, this talk explores the complexities\, grief\, hope and resilience that shape queer and trans family building. Together\, we’ll look at how to stay grounded through uncertainty\, comparison and unexpected pivots—and how to rewrite your story with compassion and clarity. \nParticipants will: \n\nunderstand the emotional rollercoaster of queer and trans family building\, including hope\, grief\, shame and resilience\nexplore how comparison\, internalized narratives and systemic barriers shape the question “What’s wrong with me?” and learn how to replace it with gentler\, more truthful language\nreflect on the grief that emerges when timelines shift\, plans change or outcomes don’t unfold as hoped\ngain practical strategies to support themselves and each other through setbacks\, pivots and identity-affirming decision making\nlearn how to build emotionally attuned\, connected and sustainable support systems throughout the journey\n\nThis is a supportive\, identity-affirming space that honours the diversity of queer and trans families and the courage it takes to build them.
