DESCRIPTION:Black Queer Youth (BQY) is a weekly drop-in group where we celebrate Black\, Caribbean\, African or multiracial queer and trans spectrum youth’s experiences and accomplishments. It is a space for youth aged 29 or under who live in Toronto\, especially downtown\, in the Jane-Finch/Black Creek or Malvern/Scarborough communities. \n\nExplore what gender or (a)sexuality means to you.\nConnect to Afro-centric health and wellness supports.\nShare skills and talents with peers and group mentors.\nFind support to achieve your short and long term goals.\nFood and TTC tokens provided.\n\n\n  \n\n  \n

SUMMARY:SOY Lead
DESCRIPTION:SOY Lead is a peer leadership program for 2SLGBTQ+ youth (29 and under) where participants develop skills and gain hands-on experience in peer support\, leadership and community building. \nDevelop skills in: \n\ncommunity care and social justice\ntrauma-informed support\none-on-one peer support\nhealth promotion\narts-based programming\ngroup facilitation\n\nParticipants also take part in a supervised practicum\, giving them the chance to practice these skills in real community settings. \nEveryone selected receives a weekly honorarium\, dinner and TTC fare for each session. Sessions are co-led by alumni of the SOY Lead program. \nTo be considered for the program\, please submit an application by Monday\, January 19.
