DESCRIPTION:Every week\, our kit packing group makes an average of 500 harm reduction kits to help keep our communities safe. Volunteers who are or were drug users are welcome to share their knowledge and time to make life safer for people who use drugs. All participants will receive a stipend\, TTC fare\, and a takeaway meal\, as well as an opportunity to build community and get support. \nPlease note that sign-up to participate starts at 9:30 a.m. At the moment\, up to five attendees can per packing session.

DESCRIPTION:Peer Pals is a 10-week peer support training program on Thursdays for all 2SLGBTQ youth aged 16-29 with lived experience of mental health and substance use challenges. \nThis project will cover specific topics including suicide prevention\, depression\, anxiety\, and how to promote overall wellbeing. \nParticipants will receive $50/session as well as TTC fare and a meal. \nLearning Objectives: \n• Foundational mental health knowledge \n• An introduction to peer support\, including building skills in communication\, active listening\, critical thinking\, and building relationships \n• Skills in adapting the peer support model when working with people who identify as 2SLGBTQ+ and/or racialized (cultural competency) \n• Suicide prevention and intervention skills \n• Harm reduction and anti-stigma skills \n• Maintaining boundaries and sustainable advocacy 2SLGBTQ youth aged 16-29 \nWeekly Program: Thursday\, May 29 – Thursday\, July 31 \nSherbourne Health\, Room 2007 \nClick here to register. \nApplication Deadline : Thursday\, May 22 \nSuccessful candidates will be informed by Monday\, May 26
