From questions and assumptions to conversations with children\, extended family\, schools and the broader community\, parents may wonder how to help their family confidently navigate our current environment. This workshop creates space to explore the unique experiences of 2SLGBTQ+ families and ways to build a strong sense of identity\, belonging and pride. \nWe will explore: \n\nFamily identity: Exploring what makes your family a family and building a positive sense of identity and belonging\nNavigating assumptions: Responding to questions\, comments\, and expectations about what a family should look like\nTalking with children: Answering questions and helping children understand and feel proud of their family structure in age-appropriate ways\nExtended family and community: Navigating relationships with loved ones\, daycares\, schools and other important people in your child’s life\nRepresentation: Finding books\, media\, role models and communities that reflect and affirm your family\nCreating belonging: Building supportive networks and finding spaces where your whole family can feel seen and included\n\nRegister: bit.ly/2SLGBTQFamily
