POSITION: Director of Operations, Downtown East Toronto Ontario Health Team – Full-Time Permanent

BACKGROUND:

The Downtown East Toronto Ontario Health Team (DET OHT) is a group of health and social service partners who have deep roots in the community and is committed to creating an integrated system of care. Our vision is to provide our community with seamless access to inclusive, inspired and responsive care through one connected system of diverse providers who enthusiastically embody a holistic approach to improving health and health outcomes. The DET OHT is in its first year of operations and rapidly developing its new, integrated approach to health care. The DET OHT’s work is centered on key principles to bring this vision forward including:

The work of the Downtown East Toronto OHT includes focused initiatives and planning to improve care for our Year 1 patient populations, ensuring lived experience partners are meaningfully part of all of our work, developing digital solutions, managing privacy and information management, strengthening governance, supporting performance and quality improvement, and developing a strategy for the OHT. In addition to this, the OHT is responsive to its environment, including responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Director of Operations will be responsible for guiding and supporting the work of the OHT overall, ensuring key deliverables and outcomes are achieved. The work of the OHT is supported by a team of project managers and analysts that form a secretariat. As the Director you, will lead the secretariat.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities of the Director of Operations for the Downtown East Toronto OHT. includes:
• Provides direct support to the Core Group (leadership group) and other working groups as necessary
• Supports the Chair of the DET OHT Core Group
• Supports the planning of the work of the OHT overall to achieve desired outcomes
• Stays up to date with the work of each working group and enables status reporting; adjusts plans as new areas of focus emerge, works will chairs to identify needed resources to accomplish the work
• Ensure Transfer Payment Agreement deliverables are being met
• Provides guidance and direction to the full secretariat including but not limited to 1:1 meetings with each member of the secretariat, full secretariat meetings and as needed
• Helps support OHT relationships (OHT members, Family Practice Network and Community Advisory Council and non-OHT member), including engaging with new interested organizations on behalf of the OHT
• Links with neighboring OHTs to stay aligned and leverage synergies
• Participates in Ontario Health – Toronto, OHT meetings
• Be the primary link between the OHT and the Ministry and stays up to date on MOH direction

EDUCATION, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

• At least 7 years of progressive experience system level leadership experience
• Experience building relationships and partnerships related to health system integration.
• Strong and innovative health care leader with a track record in provincial health system integration and successful track record of executing on a range of initiative and inspiring system level change
• Exceptional relationship developer, capable of inspiring teams and working with organizational partners to facilitate change while fostering a culture of creativity and innovation
• Strong existing relationships across both the healthcare industry and the provincial government;
• Strong project management experience, including demonstrated ability to efficiently plan, organize, and manage complex, multiple projects simultaneously with limited supervision or direction;
• Superior critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional interpersonal, team-building and communication skills
• Ability to build consensus and foster change
• Outstanding integrity, initiative, creativity, and passion
