The LGBT2SQ Parenting and Family Resources Program at Sherbourne Health provides information, resources, and referrals for queer and trans folks looking to grow their families, LGBT2SQ families, and gender-expansive kids and youth. Our goal is to make access to information, programs, and services more readily available to all members of our diverse communities. We offer support in relation to:
- Queer and trans family planning
- Gender-affirming parenting
- Social support programs
- And much more…

Queer/Trans Family Planning Course
The Queer/Trans Family Planning Course is an 8-week online, closed-group course for LGBT2SQ folks interested in learning about options for growing their family in a community-oriented space. Participants will have the opportunity to consider the practical, emotional, social, and legal issues related to queer and trans family-making in the Ontario context. The course will provide an introductory overview of options for fertility and donors, surrogacy, permanency, adoption, fostering, and family through community, and explore topics such as family models, navigating legal and healthcare systems, family advocacy, and the transition to parenthood. The course will be offered 3 times a year, in the Winter, Spring and Fall. Limited spaces available.

Queer/Trans Family Planning Workshop Series
The Queer/Trans Family Planning workshop series is intended for LGBT2SQ folks who are interested in gaining a more in-depth understanding on specific topics related to queer and trans family planning. The workshops are intended to be taken either in tandem with the Queer/Trans Family Planning Course or as stand-alone workshops. The workshop series will be offered three times a year, in the Winter, Spring and Fall. Topics covered may vary.
February 2, 2022 – Fertility and Getting Pregnant
February 9, 2022 – Using Donor Sperm and/or Eggs
February 16, 2022 – Surrogacy
February 23, 2022 – Adoption
