Joseph, Primary Care and Community Programs Client
I just moved to Toronto in 2004 from Ottawa, originally from South Africa, looking for a doctor. I was assigned because I have serious high blood pressure issues. I was assigned to first go to your Health Bus. While I was on the Health Bus, they transferred me to a nurse practitioner. Agnes was my first physician here, and then Larisa took over. I was one of her original patients. I’ve been with you guys officially since 2004. I’m 67 now. So I’ve been with you guys for over 20 years. My life in Toronto has been in your hands.
You guys have been taking care of me, and I have enjoyed good care from my principal doctor. I’ve been involved with Daniella and Nicki for the diabetic group, and they have done miracles for me all through these years. I have tons and tons of stories to tell you about how this place has saved my life, health wise especially and even socially and mentally. You guys have a way to take care of our mental health and even our social needs. So this is the best place for me. It’s a dream come true.
What makes me feel like I belong at Sherbourne is your professionalism. You’re all unbelievable professionals. Starting with the doctors, the dietitians, all the nurses, receptionists. Everyone here, even your security, are well-mannered. Immediately when you enter, you feel at home. I keep telling people everywhere. Unfortunately, most of the people I tell, there’s no room for them to have a doctor here, even a nurse, because of what’s going on in the city. Everywhere I go, people tell me how lucky I am to belong to this healthcare institution in Toronto, because everybody knows it’s the best.
