Become a Food For Good Mentor
Volunteer mentors play a key role in the Food for Good Apprenticeship program. They share their experience, networks, and encouragement with marginalized individuals exploring careers in food, whether it’s in kitchens, cafés, catering, or community food spaces. With just a few hours each month, mentors help build confidence, connection, and new opportunities.

About the Program
The Food for Good Apprenticeship initiative is a hands-on skills-building program where participants gain essential skills in food preparation, customer service, and café operations, all while working under the supervision of a supportive team. After completing their training with us, apprentices are matched with volunteer mentors who can help guide their next steps into the world of food, whether that’s a kitchen, catering, barista work, front-of-house, or starting something of their own.
