I was a newcomer. I underwent thyroid removal surgery in October 2024 and I was put in the ARC program. I was here for two weeks, and the nurses took care of me very well. I was very impressed, and I feel very comfortable because I have no one here. I’m all alone in Toronto.
I have a family doctor here, Dr. Rabea. And she’s a very fantastic doctor and she helps me with a lot of things. She tells me what I should be aware of and where I can get assistance. I’m on ODSP, and all that was arranged by the doctor. I have a case worker here too, Miriam.
And there are a lot of programs, like Rowdy Club. I do kit making here, and I get an honorarium. During kit making, I get a free coffee, I get a lot of food for free. I go to SOY JOY, I come for TFC. I’m very happy and very grateful to Sherbourne Health.
I’m an artist, actually. I record and write my own songs. Sherbourne Health has been supporting me by putting my music up during whichever group I am coming to.
For a person like me, who is all alone, no relatives, Sherbourne Health is like a family to me.
