Date: Wednesday, June 3, 2026

Time: 12–1:30 p.m.

Guest Facilitator: Rae Jardine (she/they), MA, RSSW, CC-PMH

Description: This reflective workshop is designed for 2SLGBTQ+ parents, caregivers and prospective parents who are interested in raising children outside of rigid gender norms. Grounded in anti-oppressive, mental health–informed practice, this session explores what gender-expansive parenting can look like in a world deeply structured by the binary.

Participants will be supported in building responsive parenting practices that center autonomy, curiosity and affirming care. Whether you are already parenting or preparing to, this workshop offers space to reflect, learn and connect with others on similar journeys.

Participants will:

  • explore what gender expansive parenting can look like in practice across different developmental stages
  • reflect on personal beliefs, experiences, values and socialization related to gender
  • identify common challenges, including family, community and institutional resistance and constraints
  • learn strategies to support children’s curiosity, autonomy, expression and identity exploration
  • develop language and tools for interrupting gender policing and navigating conversations about gender with others

This is a supportive, identity-affirming space that honours diverse parenting approaches and recognizes there is no single “right” way to parent beyond gender.
