Non-Birthing Parents: Support, Mental Health and Inclusion
October 6 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Guest facilitator: Rae Jardine (she/they), MA, RSSW, CC-PMH
Workshop description:
Becoming a parent is a life-changing journey for everyone involved, not just the person carrying the pregnancy. Non-birthing parents can sometimes feel overlooked, uncertain about their role or unsure how to support their partner while navigating their own emotions. This workshop creates space for non-birthing parents to feel informed, included and supported throughout pregnancy, birth and the transition to parenthood.
We will explore:
- Your role: How non-birthing parents can be meaningfully included in all stages of the family building journey
- Mental health: Recognizing the emotional challenges that can affect non-birthing parents
- Supporting your partner: Practical ways to provide emotional and physical support while maintaining your own well-being
- Building connection: Developing a relationship with your baby before and after birth and creating meaningful opportunities for involvement and bonding
- Finding support: Knowing when to ask for help and identifying peer, community and professional resources
