The Liberated Parent: Queer and Trans Pathways to Connection
May 13 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

Date: Wednesday, May 13, 2026
Time: 12:30–2 p.m.
Guest Facilitator: Myroslava Tyzkyj, BA, RVT, Registered Psychotherapist
Description: This session is for queer and trans individuals and families who are exploring or preparing for parenthood. Grounded in mental health practices and community care, this conversation introduces “Good Enough Parenting,” a compassionate framework that prioritizes connection, responsiveness and self-compassion over unrealistic expectations of perfection. Together, we will explore how showing up with care, curiosity and authenticity is more important than getting everything “right.” This approach supports healthy child development while honouring the lived experiences and resilience within queer and trans communities.
In this session, you will:
- discover what “Good Enough Parenting” means and how it nurtures healthy emotional development
- reflect on the unique strengths, insights, and challenges within queer and trans parenting journeys
- explore how mental health, trauma, and identity can shape parenting experiences
- learn practical ways to build emotionally attuned, affirming, and resilient family environments
This session offers a supportive, identity-affirming space that celebrates the diversity of queer and trans families. You’ll leave feeling more grounded, empowered and confident in your ability to parent with care, authenticity and self-compassion.
