ICONIC: The Big Fun Party—A Celebration of Resilience and Community
In Toronto’s vibrant 2SLGBTQ+ community, Sherbourne Health has long been a beacon of care, support and belonging. But over the past year, the need for these essential services has grown. The 42 per cent increase in demand for our services this past year isn’t just a statistic; it’s our friends, neighbors, and community members needing support.
Despite progress for 2SLGBTQ+ people nationwide, support and acceptance in Canada are declining. Meanwhile, rising living costs disproportionately affect 2SLGBTQ+ individuals—particularly those without family support. The real-world impact is clear: more people are turning to Sherbourne for help. Our programs aren’t just services; they’re lifelines.
“Now more than ever, it is crucial that we come together as a community and ensure services remain accessible,” added Nadjib Alamyar, Director of Community Programs and Capacity Building Initiatives, Sherbourne Health. “Support for our programs mean that youth can find meals through Supporting Our Youth (SOY), individuals can overcome employment barriers via our Trans and Non-Binary Career Connections, elders find belonging with Mature Trans Sisters and those struggling with mental health challenges receive timely care.”
That’s why, on Oct. 23, 2025, Sherbourne Health will hold ICONIC: The Big Fun Party—a new signature event to sustain and grow these essential programs.
The evening promises to be unforgettable—a dazzling mix of entertainment, dancing, delicious eats and cocktails. Hosted by Canada’s Drag Race star Tynomi Banks, with performances by dance music legend CeCe Peniston, RuPaul’s Drag Race favourite Nina West, and renowned DJ Héctor Fonseca.
